(Moments are meant to be remembered occasionally)
Today I checked in two handsome gentlemen from Laterrière, a small Canadian community they assured me was:
Quaint and
Genuine and
Breathtaking.
I told them I had never been.
As they spoke of their home, I allowed myself a luxury. They spoke of vistas and valleys; I lowered my head. They described forests and rivers and bridges; I shut my eyes... and listened. Without really hearing a word they were saying.
It wasn't really the same. Not at all. But it was close enough. When they finished and I looked up- I suppose they found the smile on my face enigmatic. And if I was a little nicer to them than custom dictated...
When hasn't the world needed a little more kindness anyways?
;)
